Happy Monday guys, I hope the first day back at work wasn’t too bad?!
I hope you’re ready for another episode of Monday Night Makeup, this week I decided to put contour and highlight sticks to the test as a wearable foundation.
To kick things off I prepped the skin first using the Fenty Beauty Soft Matte Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer.
In a nutshell, it’s a shine-stopping, pore-diffusing primer that smooths the way for better foundation application and longer wear with an instant retouch effect.
Unlike a basic mattifying primer, Pro Filt’r’s cushiony texture mattifies skin with the lightest possible feel for a full-on sensorial experience. The universal invisipink formula creates a filter-like blurring effect and melts instantly into all skin tones without a trace. Pro Filt’r works all day to help makeup last longer, and feel lightweight and comfortable.
You’ll be able to pick it up online or in store at Harvey Nichols, Dundrum Town Centre.
Next up I put the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Skinsticks to the test.
Match Stix are contour & concealer sticks in a longwear, light-as-air matte formula designed to conceal, correct and contour. Because the coverage is so good I wanted to apply them to the entire face to determine their wear as a foundation.
Made to layer, the buildable cream-to-powder formula is weightless and super easy to blend, but also stays put. There’s no creasing and caking when you apply it so it won’t set into those tiny lines around the eye area either.
Available in 20 shades you can pick them up online or in Harvey Nichols, Dundrum Town Centre.
To set the base I used the Make Up For Ever Super Matte Loose Powder in Translucent.
Super Matte Loose Powder is an ultra-fine, ultra-transparent, light and discreet powder. It sets makeup and gives the complexion an even, matte and natural finish. The non-drying formula also makes it suitable for all skin types.
You can pick it up online or in the Make Up For Ever store on Clarendon Street in Dublin.
I added a pop of colour to the cheeks using the YSL Blush Volupté in the Hope & Joy Édition.
It’s a rosy tone blush that gives your cheeks the most gorgeous colour. At the centre is a lighter shade of coral-pink, used to create a gorgeous highlight effect on the cheeks. The two shades can be applied together or separately. Use the main shade for colour and the centre highlighter for that extra glow.
Unfortunately this is a limited edition blush created to celebrate Chinese New Year so it will be pretty tricky to find it online however, I would highly recommend the YSL blushers.
View the full range on the Brown Thomas website or in store.
To highlight I used my all-time favourite highlighter, the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo in Lightning Dust & Fire Crystal.
It’s a weightless, long-wear cream-to-powder hybrid highlighter that comes in solos and expertly paired duos. With a dose of skin-glorifying colour, Killawatt ranges from subtle dayglow to insanely supercharged shades designed for all skin tones.
You can pick them up online or in Harvey Nichols, Dundrum Town Centre.
For brows I used the bareMinerals Brow Master Brow Gel in Universal Taupe.
It comes in a set which includes the Brow Master Brow Gel in universal taupe and the Brow Master Brush for precise and even application.
What’s so unique about this is the newest lash peptide technology has been added to the original Faux Cils formula. This powerful lash peptide helps enhance the appearance of natural lash length, thickness and fullness. It also features a non-clumping, double helix brush to comb and feather lashes for defined volume.
Immediate volume is achieved by a special combination of natural waxes and it also contains conditioning Rose Oil.
You can pick it up online or in store at Space NK.
I hope you enjoyed this weeks edition of Monday Night Makeup, I’m already looking forward to working on the next x
