Monday Night Makeup

I hope you enjoyed the first of my Sunday Night Skincare series last night! I’ve also decided to start another weekly series completely dedicated to Makeup – Monday Night Makeup.

The series will take the same shape as Sunday Night Skincare i.e. I will recommend 7 products each week – 1 for every day of the week!

I’ve been obsessed with makeup for as long as I can remember and a large part of my career to date has revolved around beauty.

Over the last couple of months I’ve been using some incredible new products and going forward my Monday Night Makeup series will be dedicated to the newest, most fabulous makeup products on the market.

To kick things off I want to start with the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette.

It’s an all-in-one beauty palette that every woman needs in her beauty kit for day-to-evening makeup. The Instant Look In A Palette is enriched with radiance enhancing, colour-correcting magic ingredients that suit almost every skin tone and type.

The palette includes 7 of Charlotte’s go-to makeup secrets for a natural looking you, but better!

Eye Brighten – a youthful brightening eye shadow in a colour correcting , brightening pale rose hue to prime the surface of the eyelid for an all-day application.

Eye Enhance – adds a dreamy dimension to the eye lid in a natural glowing champagne shade that illuminates the eyelid.

Eye Smoke – for softly defined eyes in a universally flattering taupe shade, that can be built up to a very natural smokey eye.

Face Bronzer – to define the cheekbone hollows, jawline and nose shape in an all-natural, all skin tone bronze colour in Charlotte’s best-selling Filmstar Bronze & Glow formula.

Cheek Swish – for a healthy, happy glow in a tea rose hue to be applied on the apple of the cheek and blended out.

Cheek Pop – for a natural lit-from-within glow, an uplifting pretty pink to be applied to the apple of the cheeks.

Face Highlighter – candlelight for the skin in a candlelit shade to be applied to the outer C-section of the cheekbones, down the nose, on the bow of the lips and inner corners of the eyes.

The palette is priced at a very reasonable €69 too, in fact, I’d even go insofar as to say it’s a bargain!

Next up I want to chat about a new foundation I’ve been using and LOVING! It’s the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation and I was spurred on to try it by the QWEEN herself Kim Kardashian who recently said it was her favourite, go-to foundation.

Blending healing hydration and luminous colour, this treatment refines the look of pores and imperfections while enhancing the skin’s natural beauty. The formula is virtually weightless and creates a natural, buildable coverage for luxurious long wear.

It also contains broad spectrum SPF20 and in terms of longevity, stays true even in humidity. This is what the foundation looks like once applied:

It doesn’t  come cheap at €100 per bottle but we all need a foundation for special occasions right? I purchased it as a birthday treat from me to me – you’ll pick it up a little cheaper in duty free.

Next up I want to chat about the Trish McEvoy Correct and Even Full-Face Perfector.

I was only introduced to Trish McEvoy as a brand less than a year ago but there’s already some products in the range I will never live without and will continuously replenish!

This all-in-one, full-face perfector makes flawless skin second nature. The skin-like formula seamlessly corrects and evens darkness, redness, hyperpigmentation and blemishes. It can also be used to highlight and contour your facial structure.

Correct and Even Full-Face Perfector comes in 5 shades from Extreme to Shade 4.  Extreme is orange based to correct extreme under-eye darkness and brown spots  when used in conjunction with your favourite foundation – it’s not designed to be worn alone.

They’re buildable and long wearing and can even be worn alone, with the exception of Extreme.

You’ll be able to pick some up at Harvey Nichols in Dundrum.

Another product you cannot live without is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter.

This is a customisable, complexion booster that gives everyone super starlit skin in seconds. It has the versatility of a primer, the mega-watt glow of a highlighter and the perfecting properties of your favourite digital filter.

It’s the ultimate high gloss, high glow celebrity-skin-filter-in-a-bottle! You can wear it under your foundation, instead of foundation or on top of foundation in the areas where you want to glow the most.

For a subtle glow –  use all over your skin underneath your foundation for a subtle glow and polished finish.

For an amplified glow –  mix with your foundation on the back of your hand before application.

For a targeted glow – dot it along tops of the cheekbones, down the nose or above the cupid’s bow.

Not a bad price point either at just €40, you can buy it online at or at Brown Thomas.

Next up I want to chat about Kat Von D Signature Brow Precision Pencil.

I don’t know about you but I’m so OVER the painted on brow look. I like brows that actually look like hair rather than ink stamps.

The Kat Von D Signature Brow Precision Pencil allows you create your dream brow shape with unprecedented control. The pencil has a super-precise elliptical tip perfect for drawing hair-like strokes.

Use the long edge to outline your ideal brow shape, then flick the super-skinny tip to create realistic hair-like strokes.

The long-wear, break-resistant, waterproof eyebrow pencil is formulated to be extra-hard, designed for buildable payoff, so you can layer colour with confidence to achieve any custom brow look.

It’s available in  7 natural shades hand-picked for every brow tone – my shade of choice is medium brown.

It’s priced at €21 and you can buy it online at Debenhams here.

I’ve been using a lot of NARS products lately and one product that I think is essential in every woman’s makeup bag is the Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer.

Designed with Soft Blurring Technology, this innovative powder captures the light and diffuses imperfections for soft-focus bronzing that enhances and entrances.

It’s smooth, silky, weightless and effortlessly delivers a wash of all-over colour or can be layered for concentrated warmth.

A translucent matte finish allows the complexion to show through for the most natural effect. Skin looks like skin—just warmer, softer, and more perfected.

I use shade Seaside which is Light 1 but it also comes in Laguna (Medium 1), Casino (Medium 2) and Falaises (Dark 1).

You can pick it up from Brown Thomas.

Last but not least, a cult favourite within the makeup community but this time with a twist.

It’s the new Mac Cosmetics Studio Face and Body Foundation/ Mirage Noir.

Think of the Face and Body you once knew, but this time with added oomph! Yes that’s right, the new Face and Body contains shimmering particles for an all-over glowing, luminous finish.

For those of you unfamiliar with Mac Cosmetics Studio Face and Body Foundation it’s a comfortable, lightweight  fluid foundation with a unique blend of emollients that deliver sheer buildable coverage but this one has added bronze pearlescent particles for a luminous finish.

The moisturising, long-wearing formula glides onto the face and body providing stay-true colour that’s water-resistant. The new Face and Body has been specially designed in hypnotic duochrome packaging that shifts from blue to purple.

It comes in 2 colours – Light Pearl and Medium Deep Pearl but can be lightened or darkened using colour drops. I’m really fair and the Light Pearl is even a little bit too dark for me but the colour can easily be adjusted.

It’s priced at €32 and is available at Brown Thomas here.

Here’s an image of me wearing 6 out of the 7 items I’ve featured above. The only product I didn’t use is the Mac Cosmetics Studio Face and Body Foundation as I’m wearing La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation.

I’m wearing Kylie Cosmetics Velvet Liquid Lipstick in shade BARE also which isn’t mentioned above.

I hope you enjoyed the first of my Monday Night Makuep series x
