OOTD: Blanket Capes by Day & Night

So today I’ve been rocking an AMAZING Blanket Cape from asos. What I particularly love about this one is the colour scheme. I think we typically associate Blanket Capes with winter but as this one was bought a month or two ago, its neutral palette of cream, nude & grey is still perfect for summer/autumn time. They don’t have this particular one in stock anymore but there is a great selection of Blanket Capes on the asos website! Click to view them here:

For daytime I paired it over a white cotton tee and my ripped boyfriend jeans from Penney’s which I just can’t get enough of! They were probably the best €19 I’ve ever spent in my life as I have worn them SO many times. With each wear and with each little pull and tug the holes get a little bigger and more worn looking which I LOVE! Penney’s don’t offer online shopping but the jeans are still in stock and they also come in lots of other colours too!

During the day, I just wore my Beige Nike Thea’s which I’m obsessed with! They were pricey though, I bought them on the office website and with the exchange rate they worked out at around €141. I did also see them in Footlocker and they were slightly cheaper, but again with shipping and conversion rate, I just had to pay that bit extra.

It’s really simple to dress up a Blanket Cape for evening time! I simply popped a pair of heels on and threw on a Fedora and I was ready to walk out the door again!

I bought these nude leather caged sandals from River Island a couple of weeks back and they were a great investment because they go with EVERYTHING! They cost €75, are still in stock and you can shop them here:

Again this Fedora hat was another great buy for me! It matches everything because of its nude/camel colour and popping on a Fedora is a great way to dress up any simple outfit you’re wearing! Better yet, it was only €15 from, is still in stock and you can shop here:

In both my daytime and nighttime looks I cinched in the Blanket Cape using my favourite go-to leather belt from Topshop. It features a cute little gold lock close to the buckle. I bought this a year or two ago and it’s no longer in stock but it just goes to show how much of an investment buying a real leather belt can be! A good quality leather belt will last you a lifetime if it’s cared for properly! You can view Topshop’s current selection of belts here:

Using a belt to cinch in a Blanket Cape is totally optional  as well. There are no rules on how to wear a Blanket Cape and I think they can look exceptionally well when worn loose too, I personally look like a two tonne Tessi when they are left open and flowing on me, so I used the belt to cinch in my waist and give a slimming effect.
