Operation Hair Transformation 8 Month Update + Haircare Routine

Those of you who have been following me for a while will know I started an ‘Operation Hair Transformation’ in August of 2017.

The reason I wanted to transform my hair initially is because I had been abusing hair extensions for about 2 years and because my hair is naturally fine, a lot of breakage ensued.

When I say abusing hair extensions, I went from non-glue systems (micro-beads) to glue systems (pre-bonded) and would get new sets back to back without breaks.

I also wanted the maximum amount of bonds possible which was unnecessarily weighing down my hair.

As much as I love the look of extensions, and how incredibly easy they are to style, I’m not entirely sure if it was worth sacrificing the health of my natural hair.

If you missed out on the beginning of my story and why I decided to embark on an Operation Hair Transformation, you can catch up here:

We’re approximately 8 months into my Operation Hair Transformation so I wanted to give you guys a quick update with regards my current haircare routine:

Below you’ll find a list of the products I’m currently using.

ALFAPARF Milano Energizing Shampoo – €12.50

I’ve been using the Energizing Shampoo since my Operation Hair Transformation commenced. Designed for weak hair that falls out,  Energizing Shampoo contains 3 complex ingredients (grape extract, walnut and rocket) that help to prevent and reduce hair loss by prolonging the life of the follicle, protecting it from the effects of free radicals and enhancing cellular proliferation.

It also contains something called Renovagenyl – a double action active ingredient that balances and revitalises the scalp and stimulates cellular renewal.

Energizing Shampoo also contains a Shine Fix Complex, a gradual-release system with Linseed extract for long lasting radiance and Color Fix Complex, which prolongs the intensity and shine of colour by up to 91% after 9 washes.

The Energizing range is also ideal for women who have suffered hair loss after giving birth or who have suffered hair loss as a direct result of chemotherapy.

ALFAPARF Milano Reparative Mask – €14.95

I use the Reparative Mask as my conditioner every other wash. Designed for damaged, fragile and brittle hair it’s an intensive conditioning treatment that replenishes the hair fibre deep-down and repairs damage from the inside to rebuild the hair shaft.

Free from sulphates and harmful ingredients it combines Bamboo Marrow which is rich in Silica for strength and elasticity and Linseed Extract, a powerful source of fatty acids which smooth the hair fibre for added shine.

Similar to the Energizing Shampoo it also contains Color Fix Complex which prolongs the intensity and shine of colour by up to 91% after 9 washes.

An innovative Nutri-Sugars Complex optimises hydration within the hair shaft, leaving hair visibly softer, healthier and more manageable after use.

ALFAPARF Milano Energizing Lotion – €26.95

The Energizing Lotion has been without doubt my holy grail hair product during my Operation Hair Transformation.

It comes in a box of 12 vials, designed to be used once a week for a course of 12 weeks or twice a week (if you’re using half a vial) for 12 weeks.

In a nutshell it’s an intensive energizing concentrate for weak hair that falls out. Similar to the Energizing Shampoo it contains 3 complex ingredients (grape extract, walnut and rocket) that help to prevent and reduce hair loss by prolonging the life of the follicle, protecting it from the effects of free radicals and enhancing cellular proliferation.

It also contains Renovagenyl – a double action active ingredient that balances and revitalises the scalp and stimulates cellular renewal.

The Energizing Lotion has a hot-ice effect, making the scalp feel as if it’s getting hot on application.  To use: apply the lotion all over the scalp when hair is damp and massage in before styling.

ALFAPARF Milano Style Stories Blow-Dry Cream – €14.25

Lastly, I’ve been using the newly launched Style Stories products and the Blow-Dry Cream has become one of my every day essentials.

It’s a volumising cream designed to make drying quicker and easier, fights frizz and leaves hair feeling soft and lightweight without weighing it down.

All the ALFAPARF Milano Style Stories products contain a special ingredient called Moringa Oloifera, also known as the miracle tree. Commonly used in treatments for skin and hair, it neutralises unpleasant odours to give your hair a longer-lasting clean sensation and contains photo-protective properties which counteract the damage of free radicals.

All the pre-styling products also contain ingredients that when activated by heat protect against free radicals and preserve the keratin naturally contained in the hair fiber preventing breakage.
