Product of the Day: Shiseido IBUKI Beauty Sleeping Mask

I’m relatively new to using Shiseido products but to be honest, I don’t know how I haven’t used them before. We’ve all heard of Shiseido before right? But when someone asked me what the first thing I thought of when I thought of Shiseido was… I thought is was a really expensive, luxury brand.

A luxury brand yes, but overly expensive no and in my opinion in most peoples price range, or at least those who like to invest a little extra into their skincare.

More interestingly, Shiseido is THE oldest skincare brand in the world! Founded in 1872 by Arinobu Fukuhara who opened Japan’s first western-style pharmacy in the Ginza district of Tokyo. The pharmacy, which was largely research and development oriented, has grown to be one of Japan’s largest and most influential companies.

The IBUKI range is specifically formulated for skin mid 20’s to 30’s and not only corrects imperfections, but also helps to build a resistance mechanism deep within the skin to prevent future problems.

Lifestyle, hormonal fluctuations and environmental stress all contribute to skin issues like breakouts, visible pores, loss of smooth,  balanced texture and as a result, your skin has to work extremely hard to not only fix the problem, but try to build a barrier so that it resists future problems.

A lot of products on the market provide that instant fix, but don’t help the skin to replenish long term and build up a resistance.

Shiseido have developed an advanced PhytoResist Complex, based on Shape Memorizing Cell Technology which helps to enhance the production of natural moisture and refines skin’s texture in order to build resistance to future skin issues, instead of just addressing the apparent problem.

What’s good about the Beauty Sleeping Mask is that you don’t even have to wait to take it off… it’s designed for leaving on overnight!

It contains condensed vitamin capsules that melt upon application, shielding the skin allowing the ingredients to work on the surface layers over time.

It also contains a phytoplankton extract which thrives in the Sahara Desert, to help revitalise skin for a plump, well-rested look by morning.

The encapsulated Vitamin C and E helps tired-looking skin appear brighter and more radiant after one night.

The IBUKI Beauty Sleeping Mask is priced at €45 and is available to purchase from Harvey Nichols, Arnotts, Brown Thomas (Cork), Debenhams, Shaws Department Stores and pharmacies nationwide.
