Review: Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa

There’s nothing I love more than a hotel break away and recently I had the pleasure of staying at Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa in Co.Meath!

The original Castle on the Dunboyne Estate was destroyed during the Cromwellian invasion of Ireland (1649–53) however the Georgian house that we see today was completed in 1764 by Drogheda architect George Darley.

Set in 21 acres of manicured lawns & woodland walks, Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa was opened in 2006 and boasts 145 contemporary and spacious guest rooms including a selection of four luxurious suites.

As part of our stay we enjoyed dinner at The Ivy Restaurant and not only was it exceptional in terms of taste and presentation, it was also extremely reasonable in terms of price!

Showcasing the best of modern Irish creative cuisine, Executive Chef John Nagle is consistently recognised for his talents with 2 AA Rosettes and a listing in the Michelin Guide!

The Ivy is about showcasing the best of modern cuisine through innovation & creativity.
