REVIEW: Everything You Need To Know About Henna Brows

I went to Wicked Beauty in Ashbourne a couple of weeks ago to get Henna Brows for the first time and after receiving so many questions about what Henna Brows actually are or entail, I decided to do a little Q&A with Kelley, owner of Wicked Beauty and self proclaimed eyebrow enthusiast.

I compiled a list of the most asked questions and sent them through to Kelley for answer.

What are Henna Brows?

Kelley said: Henna brows are designed to give an effect similar to that of permanent makeup. I use a brand called Mina henna. This brand has several colours to customise a perfect colour for each and every client.

Is Henna safe to use?

Kelley said: The henna I use has no ammonia or lead and is EU compliant. The formula itself has great benefits for the brow hair and a nourishing growth serum is applied after each treatment.

How long do Henna Brows last?

Kelley said: Results can last anywhere from 4-6 weeks (hair depending) and are suitable for all hair and skin types however a patch test is required before treatment for all new clients.

Are they expensive?

Kelley said: They are priced at just €40 and considering they last substantially longer than a regular brow tint, it actually works out more cost effective.

My Before V After

Kelley also wanted to share a step by step breakdown of the process:

Step 1 – measure out the clients brow for a perfectly symmetrical shape

Step 2 – custom blend a colour for your client

Step 3 – apply paste to the brow

Step 4 – shape around the brow with wax and threading

Step 5 – when colour is achieved remove henna

Step 6 – tweeze any strays and trim to perfection

Step 7 – apply brow serum and reveal your perfect henna brow transformation

I regularly get my brows tinted but to be fair I did notice the henna lasted double the amount of time compared to regular tint. Aside from its longevity, Kelley is an expert when it comes to the shape and symmetry of eyebrows and I would highly recommend a visit to her salon if you want your brows to be #OnFleek!
