Review: Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

I told you all I was using Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado about 5 weeks ago in the height of summer time when my hayfever was at its worst.

My hayfever can be extremely bad at times and whenever I apply makeup in and around my eyes, it can really irritate my skin thus causing my eyes to stream rivers!

Because they stream so badly, my eyes can be left raw red, or like cured meat as I like to refer to them. Aside from my skin looking atrociously irritated, it can be REALLY sore as well! Especially because the skin underneath and around the eye is the most delicate part of the face.

So, when it was at its worst, I needed something that was going to sooth the soreness and sensitivity along with replenishing and rehydrating the irritated area.

Enter Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.

From the second I applied it to my salami eyelids I could feel it soothing my thin films of tenderness!

The texture is really thick and creamy but it’s extremely fluid like. I would only use this sparingly around the eye area as a little goes a long way. Because of its creamy thickness it does’nt absorb instantly, it takes a little bit of massaging in before it penetrates the layers of the skin.

The unique concentrated texture does not migrate into your eyes either which is really important for me! You all know by now that I love to use facial oils, but I can only apply them seconds before I go to sleep because if I apply them before getting into bed and then decide to watch TV for a while, I can feel the oils migrating into my eyes and they become stingy and irritated.

So, when I applied Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, I was able to sit in bed and watch TV without any discomfort or irritation as once it had penetrated the layers of the skin and fully absorbed, there was no migration of the product into the eye!

Some of the ingredients explained:

Avocado Oil is a rich, fatty-acid emollient and is known to be the most moisturising of any fruit oil. It is also a natural source of Amino Acid proteins, Vitamins A, D, E, and potassium. It’s main duty is to restore the natural moisture of the skin.

Beta-Carotene is a naturally derived antioxidant predominantly found in many orange/red vegetables such as carrots. It is used in Vitamin A production and gives an orange tint when used in skin care products.

Shea Butter is the natural fat obtained from the fruit of the African Karate tree and is widely used in lotions and cleansing products for its hydrating properties. Shea Butter protects skin from dehydration, restores skin’s suppleness and improves the appearance of dry skin.
