Formulated with White Birch Extract (a sugar-derived ingredient known for its ability to restore hydration and nutrients to the skin), Peony Extract ( a natural antioxidant used in traditional Chinese medicine that helps protect against oxidative damage and works with Activated C to enhance skin clarity) and Pearlstone (a natural exfoliant derived from volcanic ash, also referred to as Perlite, known to help refine and brighten skin) this exfoliating face wash gently cleanses and purifies skin to effectively remove dirt, oil and environmental pollutants while helping to improve skin clarity.
To use apply a small amount of facial cleanser to clean fingertips, gently massage onto face using upward, circular motions, avoiding the immediate eye area and rinse thoroughly or remove with a damp washcloth. For best results, follow with your regular skincare routine and SPF protection.

Next up is one of my favourite products from one of my favourite skincare brands, the Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating ACE Serum.
This powerful cocktail contains three forms of Vitamin C, along with Vitamin A and E and is infused with Rose Petal and Red Wine Extract to provide maximum antioxidant protection and reduce visible signs of ageing. Think of it as a powerhouse daily multi-vitamin for your skin.
It contains a powerful blend of plant antioxidants including Green Tea and Echinacea Extract which help to reduce visible signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles while Bearberry Extract works to brighten the skin’s appearance and improve clarity.
Lightweight and powerful, a complex of five amino acids stimulates skin cell action, increasing the production of collagen and elastin.
Vital C Hydrating ACE Serum is perfect for all skin types but is best-suited for rosacea, aging, dry and dehydrated skin, post-treatment skin, acne-prone and oily skin.
To use apply in morning and evening to cleansed skin.
For a list of Image Skincare stockists in your area email Ireland@imageskincare.com. I purchase my products from Havana Skin Clinic in Swords because it’s local but I know you can also get it in Therapie Clinic if that’s any help.
Next up I want to chat about my favourite oil cleanser – the bareMinerals Oil Obsessed Total Cleansing Oil.
I ALWAYS use an oil cleanser when I’m removing makeup because in all honestly I don’t think any cleanser cuts it like an oil cleanser when it comes to removing makeup. Usually I completely remove my makeup using an oil cleanser and then carry out my skincare routine as normal and preferably like to use a cream cleanser after oil to remove any oily residue.
This ultra-lightweight facial cleansing oil glides on to the face to effectively yet gently dissolve makeup and impurities. When mixed with water the oil transforms into a weightless, milky emulsion that easily rinses away.
Infused with the uplifting scent of Lavender and Tangerine this nurturing blend features Borage (the oil derived from the seeds of the bright purple flower is known to soothe and nourish the skin), Sunflower (significant to Native Americans as a source for nutritional, medicinal and ceremonial practices, the emollient oil contains skin-loving vitamins and Omega 9 to help nourish skin), Bilberry (grown in Europe and handpicked in the wild underbrush, the oil of Bilberry is valued for its skin soothing properties), Cucumber (the lightweight oil from the cucumber fruit helps nourish and hydrate skin while encouraging resilience) and mineral-rich Sea Salts (cultivated from the waters off the coast of Brittany, these sea salts are rich in Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium help to purify and refine skin). Skin feels silky soft and smooth after use.
Priced at €27 you can pick one up from Boots, Brown Thomas or Debenhams.
Next up I want to chat about the Lancome Absolue Precious Cells Nourishing and Revitalizing Rose Mask. First let me start by saying it smells INCREDIBLE.
Lancome Absolue Precious Cells Nourishing and Revitalizing Rose Mask has been carefully created with a blend of three precious rose extracts and rose water. With its soothing texture, this intensely fresh yet indulgently rich face mask helps to make skin feel more nourished and revitalised.
Skin appears radiant, hydrated and visibly glowing after use and feels softer, suppler and smoother.
To use apply and spread the gel across the forehead, cheeks, chin and down the neck in long gliding strokes, working from the centre of the face towards the outside. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and then remove the excess before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Use morning and/or evening.
It’s quite pricey at €140 but definitely worth the splurge if your skin needs a bit of a pick me up – your skin will thank you for it! Pick it up at any Lancome stockist nationwide.
Those of you who’ve been following me forever will known I highly rate The Body Shop products. I’ve used them since I was a teen and there’s a few products in the range that I replenish on a regular basis.
One of those products is the Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask. In a nutshell it’s a 3-in-1 product which can be used as a wash, scrub or mask to combat blemishes and excess oil.
When used as a wash, the foaming clay removes impurities and excess oil. As a scrub, the exfoliants unclog pores, smooth skin’s surface and reduce the appearance of blackheads. When applied as a mask, the drying clay reduces blackheads and shine, deeply cleanses, mattifies and tightens pores.
I personally use it every time I’m in the shower as a wash. I have combination skin meaning sometimes I’m dry and dehydrated, sometimes I’m sensitive and experience redness and skin tightness and sometimes I’m oily in certain areas meaning my skin produces excess oil and I suffer from breakouts.
I don’t suffer from breakouts AT ALL when I use the Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask on a regular basis. My theory was actually put to the test quite recently. I left my Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash.Scrub.Mask in Australia by accident and after about 9 days after my last use I started to breakout again! What does that tell me? I wasn’t using anything to control the production of oil in my skin and as a result I started breaking out. I’ve since bought a brand new one yesterday (Saturday 11th August) and used it this morning in the shower. My skin will start clearing up now over the next couple of days.
Pricewise it’s extremely reasonable at €18.50 and it’s available in The Body Shop stores nationwide.
Last but not least I’d like to recommend the new moisturiser I’ve been using – La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream.
Created with microscopic moisturising spheres for the ultimate smooth and lightweight texture, this soft variation of Crème de la Mer delivers the same game-changing benefits as the original. At first touch, skin looks instantly radiant and naturally balanced as imperfections fade. Miracle Broth visibly softens, nourishes, soothes, and gives skin the energy it needs to focus on repair, while powerful antioxidant lime tea protects against stress and pollution for a healthy-looking glow and vitality that lasts.
Miracle Broth is the legendary healing elixir that flows through all of La Mer and infuses skin with sea-sourced renewing energies. This elixir is formulated with hand-harvested sea kelp and other nutrients and minerals unlocked via a natural fermentation process. Surging with vital energies, it supports the five facets of natural healing: moisture, regeneration, soothing, smoothing, and radiance which help to bring skin back to its healthiest state. The iconic opal jar is hand-filled within eight hours of the Crème’s creation.
Suitable for all skin types a jar of Moisturizing Soft Cream will set you back €140 for 30ml but it comes highly recommended and you can’t put a price on your skin. It’s worth every penny if you ask me!
I hope you enjoyed the first of my Sunday Night Skincare series and I’m already looking forward to working on the next! x
