The palette features eye shadows, blush, highlighters and contour powder making it a very travel-friendly, makeup must-have. Having one of these palettes in your kit while travelling would mean that you would only need to pack your foundation, concealer, powder, eyeliner, mascara and makeup brushes alongside it!
Una Tynan (founder of Blank Canvas Cosmetics) and Pippa worked closely together in the production of this palette, making sure that it stayed true to Pippa’s love for fresh, natural makeup.
There are six gorgeous gradients of matte, highly-pigmented eyeshadows that are velvet in texture and are extremely easy to blend.
Ranging from a carbon black to a delicate ivory-vanilla, Pippa’s choice of colours are ideal for creating both natural and smokey looks.
All shades can be worn alone, dry or wet and they can be layered for pigment intensity.
The palette also contains three face shades; a luminous highlighter, a peachy/pink blush and a matte warm bronzer ideal for contouring! These shades can also be worn on the eyes too, I LOVE the blush colour and I can’t wait to use it for blending out smokey eyes.
Before I swatched the palette, I used a layer of concealer as a base and pressed the shadows in to set it. This is great for building shadow intensity! The shadows are extremely pigmented, crumbly on impact with a makeup brush AND they create little or no fall-out once applied to the skin!
With great attention to detail, Pippa also chose personal names for each of her shades and the soft, floral, pretty pink packaging echoes her unique style.
The personal meaning behind Pippa’s shade-name choices:
KD – Pippa’s granddad’s name was Karl Daniel Mullen (KD for short) and when choosing the name for the strongest shade in her palette, he instantly sprung to mind!
Dodo – Pippa’s grandmother’s name was Doreen (Dodo for short) and she wanted her KD & Dodo beside each other on the palette.
Susu- Pippa’s sister’s name is Susanna and she has called her Susu since forever.
Tobi – The name of Pippa’s childhood dog.
Ollie – Named after her precious baby boy Oliver.
Lily – Named after the snow white Bichon Frise her husband Brian bought for her.
Lulu – This is Pippa’s favourite shade in the palette, the luminous highlighter. Named after her mum Louise who is up in heaven watching over her every day.
Pipsy – This peachy/pink tone is named after Pipsy Pie herself as it’s the perfect, peachy/pink, girly blush colour and the name Pipsy suited it to a tee.
Amour – Amour, meaning Love, is the perfect shade to represent the love of Pippa’s life, her husband Brian.
The bad news is… The palette isn’t out just yet!
